100 Years of Caring

From our humble beginnings to what it is today, Valley Senior Living is proud of our heritage. Through our affiliation with area Lutheran congregations, our compassionate Christian care is provided through the virtue of grace, which is care that is given without expecting anything in return.

Our History

1914

The Bethesda Society Organized

1917

The Grand Forks Home of the Aged was incorporated, and the Old People's Home's constitution was adopted

1919

Property on Almonte Avenue was purchased for $3,000

1924

The first building was completed for 40 residents, costing $30,000

1927

A second unit was built with 32 additional rooms, this unit cost $35,000

1959

Old People's Home name changed to Valley Memorial Home

1970

Tufte Manor was built

1981

Valley Senior Living on Columbia was built

1997

The flood of 1997

1998

Valley Senior Living on 42nd was built

2014

Cherrywood Village was built

2021

Valley Memorial Homes' name changed to Valley Senior Living
